No. 6 Baseball Hosts Miss. State To Begin SEC Play

No. 6 Florida (13-3) will begin the 30-game SEC portion of its schedule by hosting Mississippi State (11-6) at McKethan Stadium. All three games will be televised, Friday at 7 p.m. on FOX Sports Florida, Saturday at 7 p.m. on CSS (as well as on Channel 15 on Cox in Gainesville) and on Sunday at 1 p.m. on FOX Sports Florida.

Parking Shuttle Available for Friday's Baseball & Gymnastics Events

No. 6 Florida (13-3) limited No. 4 Florida State (13-3) to one hit over the final seven innings and overcame a pair of three-run deficits en route to an 8-5 victory in front of a season-high 4,773 fans at McKethan Stadium on Tuesday night. Sophomore Preston Tucker (Tampa, Fla.) belted a homer and notched four RBI.

Sophomore Anthony DeSclafani (2-1) hurled a season-high 5.2 innings as No. 6 Florida (12-3) downed Army (5-4), 9-3, on Monday. Sophomore Preston Tucker drove in three runs, highlighted by his first homer of the year, and freshman Austin Maddox was 2-for-5 and collected two RBI for the Gators.

Baseball Adds Game Against Army

The Gator baseball team announced on Friday that it will play Army on Monday, March 15, at McKethan Stadium. Game time will be at 6:30 p.m. Any ticket from the Gators' series against La Salle that was supposed to be held from Feb. 26-28 will be honored.

Sophomore left-hander Alex Panteliodis (4-0) scattered five hits over a career-high seven innings as sixth-ranked Florida (10-2) upended Charleston Southern (5-9), 6-0, on Friday night. Freshman Mike Zunino was 3-for-3 with a two-run homer and senior Matt den Dekker homered to extend his hitting streak to 21 games.
